Karen, Veterinary Technician
Karen knew she had a passion for animals when she was young due to her exposure to farm animals. She pursued a career in animal care at a vocational school and then went on to continue her education and training to become a veterinary technician. She joined our team in 2001.
At home, Karen has two dogs, Joey and Zara, and one cat, Ollie, who is 18 years old. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her dog, Zara, yard work, and spending time with family and friends.
Sue, Pet Groomer
Sue moved to Ohio in 1998 from a small town in Oklahoma. She gave her first “haircut” to her mother’s poodle at age 10, and her career took off from there! Previously, she has enjoyed dog handling in 4H and has been working in the “dog world” ever since. Sue joined the Akron-Medina Veterinary Hospital & Pet Resort team in 2003. She states that it has been the most wonderful job and a pleasure to work with all of her special dogs and clients—with room in her heart for many more!
Melanie, Client Service Representative
Melanie was constantly hiding stray cats and dogs in her room while growing up because of her love and animals and desire to help. At her job, she loves being able to meet and greet fur babies and their parents on a daily basis! Melanie joined our team in 2018.
Brooklin, Pet Resort Attendant
Brooklin graduated from Maplewood Career Center’s animal science program in 2016. Then, she attended college at North Coast Training Academy to become a veterinary assistant and graduated in 2017. She spent two years as a veterinary assistant before joining our team.
In her spare time, Brooklin enjoys watching movies with her chubby cat and spending time with family and friends.
Kyra, Pet Resort Attendant
Kyra always wanted to work with animals since she was a kid. She hopes to continue to move forward in her career, while also keeping her eyes set on furthering her education. She feels like this job is setting her on the right path toward a successful veterinary career!
